Yohji Yamammoto History

Yohji was born in Japan in 1943, studying English in Nippion Universty. He studied with Chie Kolke who also studied with Yves St Laurent.
Yamammoto felt that designing cloths was like artwork and not to be viewed as a humbble proffesin as it was in the late 60s. His start came when he would make dresses for his mother freinds.
His company was formed in 1972 and his first collection shown in his native Japan in 1976. His unique abstract style made him famous worldwide .
The boutique in Paris was opened in 1981 succsesion was now worldwide as his clothes filled the busy streets of Paris.
Yamammoto entered into a contract with addidas in 2002.
His clothes and fragrances are renowed worldwide and will contunie on forever.
